Andy is the Founder of U-Explore, a company committed to greatly improving the quality and access young people and parents have to careers guidance, so better choices can be made on the road from education to employment. He is passionate about transforming young people’s life chances through a more proactive and relevant approach to careers information and advice and now incredibly proud that U-Explore is able to provide its careers software to all young people and schools free of charge. He is also the Chairman of the Music Factory Entertainment Group, where he started as a sound engineer at age 16 and went on to become a successful music producer achieving 3 number one hit singles and selling over 10 million records with the infamous Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers. In 1995 Andy set up a dance music record label called Tidy Trax and went on to become one of the most successful DJ duos in the world as the Tidy Boys and still plays now at the ripe old age of 50. In his career in the eduction and skills sector he has worked with numerous local authorities, Government and LEPs, large and small employers, schools and colleges, as well as being an academy sponsor and school governor so really does have a 360 degree perspective of the employment and skills agenda. Add to this he has three children currently between the ages of 12 and 17, so as a parent he is also experiencing the real time challenges of his own children transitioning through education, which he says gives him the greatest perspective.
